Dear Appaloosa Owners, Exhibitors and
Trainers:
For many years the Appaloosa Sale at the San Antonio
Livestock Show has been one of the premier Sales in the Country; the 2006 Sale
was no exception. The purpose of this letter is to give you an early "wake up"
call that the Sale in San Antonio next February is going to be bigger, better
and hopefully more productive of dollars for your consigned horses. The
following are just a few of the ideas that helped to make the 2006 sale a
success and that we will follow with for 2007:
- Same sale management, and Leo Casas, auctioneer, who is bilingual. We
welcome the return of Leo to our Sale.
- Due to time constraints of the Show, we will accept only fifty (50)
quality horses. They must have regular ApHC papers or CPO, solid Appaloosa (N
papers), AQHA, JC or Arabian mares in foal to Appaloosa stallions. The quest
for color is dictated by the success of the past sales and recent trends in the
industry and particularly, the proximity to Mexico and our efforts to attract
Mexican buyers. Horses that are broke to ride and have a history in performance
will be looked upon favorably.
- We will advertise extensively, starting in the November issue of the
Appaloosa Journal and including advertisements in Mexico and on the Border. We
cannot overlook the value of the International buyer and in this regard, we
will work closely with the International Department of the Livestock Show to
attract International buyers. We welcome George Betancourt as one of the Sale
Managers to assist in this area.
- We plan to get out consignment blanks early and catalogs early.
Potential consignors and buyers will have their blanks and catalogs early so
they can make their plans ahead of schedule.
- We will have the Saturday afternoon time slot while the Appaloosa
Show is still going on, which makes a big difference.
- We will have sale stalls set up early with decorations of aisles and
early posting of stall cards.
- There will be special consignment fees for early consignors and those
consigning multiple horses.
- We guarantee that every horse will be given its best look and auction
in the ring to secure for you the best possible price. Our ultimate goal is to
sell quality horses at good prices.
- Sale information and horses will be advertised on our web page.
www.texasaphc.com
- All consignments wishing to participate will receive a paid entry
into the most colorful at halter class or an appropriate halter class at a
reduced fee.
For those of you who have been previous consignors, we want
you back and guarantee continued results for you. Special effort will be made
to secure quality consignments and we hope to be selective in choosing our
fifty (50) head of horses. We are serious in stating that this Sale will be
limited to fifty (50) quality head of horses. For those of you who have not
previously consigned to this Sale, we would like to welcome you for a first
time and promise that we will deliver on all of the above representations. I
earnestly solicit your consignments and cooperation and with this help, we can
continue to make this a premier Sale. Any calls from potential consignors will
be appreciated.
Best Regards,
George Betancourt and Jim Corrigan
